Findings suggest that AI has the potential to improve decision-making, enhance timely palliative care referrals, and bridge language and cultural gaps. Artificial intelligence tools were found to improve predictive accuracy, support serious illness communication, and assist in addressing language barriers, thus promoting equitable care for URGs. However, barriers such as limited generalizability, biases in data, and challenges in infrastructure were noted, hindering the full adoption of AI in hospice settings. Artificial intelligence has transformative potential to improve hospice care for URGs by enhancing cultural sensitivity, improving communication, and enabling more timely interventions. However, to fully realize its potential, AI solutions must address data biases, infrastructure limitations, and cultural nuances. Future research should prioritize developing culturally competent AI tools that are transparent, explainable, and scalable to ensure equitable access to hospice and palliative care services for all populations. When people limited their time being sedentary to under four hours a day, it was linked with a lower chance of multimorbidity. Findings were published Tuesday in Archives of Public Health. ... On average, 46.1% of participants were sedentary for one to three hours a day, while 9.4% of people were still for more than seven hours each day. When scientists put the data together, they noticed a clear trend: The longer time people spent sedentary, the more likely they were to have more health ailments. ... This full-day program is both a retreat and educational day for caregivers. “We understand that caregivers are often unable to attend events such as this, therefore, we are removing that barrier,” shared Jacob Gordon, director of community programming with Trellis Supportive Care. For those responsible for caring for an adult family member, Trellis is arranging respite care in coordination with local partner agencies so that caregivers can attend. ... “We hope this provides an opportunity for people to regroup, rejuvenate, and leave with valuable tips for moving forward as a caregiver,” shared Gordon.

As a result of these groups, 16 artists will have the art that they created in these groups on display at AntFarm Café & Bakery, 39140 Proctor Blvd., throughout the month of April, from April 3-30, while the cafe is open. ... “This art show creates a space that normalizes talking about mental health and grief,” said Mt. Hood Hospice Bereavement Services Director Laura Lirette. “In a culture where grief is often experienced alone and behind closed doors, our hope is that this exhibit will invite conversations about grief and supporting grievers.”

These behaviors help people to understand differences as well as uphold common ground across all social contexts. A stable foundation, afforded through civil actions, serves as a catalyst in achieving environments that promote diversity, equity, and inclusivity — the underpinnings of a culture of belonging. Nurse leaders can play a key role in creating this culture. Contrary to civility, in the healthcare setting, acts of incivility lead to increased levels of staff disengagement and turnover. Researchers have noted that a civil nursing workplace provides a safeguard against numerous professional issues, including but not limited to increased turnover rates, burnout, job dissatisfaction, and stress.

03/05/25 at 03:00 AMThe project: This is hospice care PA Mediapoint, United Kingdom; 3/1/25 Hospice UK approached us to support the launch of their national “This is Hospice Care” campaign. The campaign aimed to raise awareness about hospice care and encourage people to leave a gift in their will to their local hospice. ... To further strengthen the campaign’s storytelling, we encouraged hospice nurses to bring objects representing the diverse services offered by hospices. Some of props included a pug to represent pet therapy, a potted plant symbolising hospice gardens and outdoor spaces, a birthday cake reflecting the sense of community and celebration within hospices, and a gift box to emphasise the theme of leaving a legacy. Bringing together nurses from twelve hospices, the shoot successfully blended visual storytelling with the core campaign messages.
